Hard Candy Pills
The abode
Has a door
With a lock that is
Broken;
Just like its owner.
The room is
Silent.
Empty and
Shattered
Bottles of merlot
And Chardonnay
Line the dressers.
Brightly colored pills,
Plentiful like
Hard Candy
In a shop
Scatter the floor.
Finally free from their
Manila prisons.
His glasses are
Cracked
On the bedside table.
Yet he is
Nowhere
To be found.
On his floor
Lies a note.
A note.
"I'm sorry,"
It says
In messy ink.
His heartbeat is
Faint.
His breathing is
Shallow.
His soul is
Shattered.
I am left
Heart broken.
And throbbing.
Don't you leave me.
Don't you dare.
