the Christmas tree glitters in an unlit room
presents tucked with gleaming paper rest under it
the smell of Christmas cookies creeps into the room
lots of laughing and chuckling escapes from those most dear to us
white piles of powder dust the ground and roofs
twinkling lights dangle from trees and houses
people celebrate the birth of Jesus
feet race like cars into stores humming with stress about what to give to their loved ones
Christmas is
love
joy
and caring
Christmas is like seeing for the first time
