The darkness coming at us
I sat there watching the dark cloud move in
Not knowing what to write
The birds were flying away
Not knowing where to go
It was moving in dark and fast
Over the hills and coming at us
I sat there in the class room watching it
Not knowing when it would get here
The trees had started to blow in the wind
And no one else seemed to notice the darkness coming at us
They all just sat there typing away
Then it lightened up
It wasn't as dark anymore
But I knew it wasn’t gone
Then we heard it
The thunder cracked
But the rain did not start
I knew that it was coming
The dark cloud was getting closer and closer
It was like it was waiting for just the moment to jump out at us and start
The room was filled with an eerie silence
But I was the only one who seemed to notice
Why were they all so dead to the world
No one feels any more
No one laughs
No one cries
No one even knows the difference between happiness and sadness
It hurts me just to look at the world
Knowing that no one else sees it the way I do
They see it as something in our way
I see it as something that we have and need to respect
Then the rain starts
I jump when all of a sudden it was poring down
I was expecting it to happen but not that fiercely
It is pounding against the windows
Hitting the roof like they were in a fight
No one seems to notice
Because whatever is on the screen in front of them is much more important
So I sit there watching the dark could move in
Not knowing what to write
