Falling Tree
The days go by
“I feel very ill
As I will fall
and never to return”.
All I’ll be is
A downed log
In this backyard.
After I’m gone
What will be of me
A pencil,
A toothpick,
or simply
Just firewood.
I fear the next wind will be
Fatal
No recovery or second chances
Just gone like that
gone with no tomorrow.
