25 de Mayo
You injected me envy with a venom-filled syringe,
I prayed that I would fall in love with the stars like
a boy who submitted to me in the night
after a day, lifetime of robbed moments with
photocopied women who fell in your path,
She was made of arms and skin,
a plastic figure
made from the same mold as
the rest
I cried the filthy night in your arms,
you pleaded for sugar-spun mercy,
and every seventh day repeated
the vodka in plastic cups,
desperate to cut our veins with
purple children's scissors
