i leafed through
the post early
today, amber sun
rays winking
through curtained
windows—
murder, arrest,
death, murder,
larceny, rape,
murder, war—
and to my
surprise one
act of charity:
some kid,
with too much
time in his
unscarred hands,
collected $500
for st. jude’s,
even though
some a******
stole $200
from him

a commentary..exactly. poetry shouldn't solely relate the lingering emotions of a break-up...or the arousing feelings of an indifferent crush, but delve beyond the apparent and tangible. sometimes poetry is the only voice of what isn't presentable. let's be proactive with our poetry. not that poetry shouldn't explore the complexity of the human emotions. thanks for reading!

honestly that's a huge compliment for me. impressionist art is my favorite genre of art for many reasons. it's not a still portrait. it moves constantly even though to the simple eye it doesn't seem so. there's emotion, thoughts, images—all pacing at an inconstant speed, moving along.... and that's what i want to do with my writing. to not present a constant case, imobile and listless. but a dynamic fathoming that constantly changes and rushes, but also remains still and hidden. with every word i try to paint pictures. thank you for capturing this. ^u^

Life isn't measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments which take your breath away.

You are only as strong as your weakest link.

I love this poem! The tone and language throughout is amazing! I've noticed this about the news as well, it's a sad commentary on what society is becoming :(

"Unscarred hands" wow those two words can be analyzed in so many ways....I love how you bring different elements into your poems. Your pieces are like collages in which people readily see a different picture. You are monet! The impressionist!

First off, I love your title; the Latin phrase instantly captivated me. Your technique of not capitalizing is great as well, adding to the uniqueness of the poem. And, of course, there's your imagery, which is fantastic and said in just a few words. Great job with this!
