In Retrospect

"When forty winters shall besiege my brow"
I wonder if I'll look back on this place
In retrospect, and regret my regrets
And, see, finally, I had nothing to fear
Nothing to fear but my imaginary demons
No threats but the threat of one
Of my own fabrication.
My quandary now is whether I will look back on this time
As wasted, or this gnawing anxiety as pitiful,
Or if I shall be pleased that I opened this opportunity
To know myself.
