Life's A Maze (edit)
this pain began just as a child
my never filled heart
starts to ache with more pain
so wild
I remember those hot summer days
picnics in the backyard
splashes in the pool
a happy family
now a tragic gaze
happiness is dead
a broken soul
your heart of coal
turn left:
family vacations in Tennessee
turn right:
mascara bleeds from my watery eye
turn around:
you're back again
I'm lost
in these bittersweet memories
a nightmare
my sleeping body turns and tosses.
nows it storms
it rains
and the chaos
reminds me of last Christmas
broken hearts
like broken candycanes
turn left:
a campfire
close my eyes
and the fire spreads
ashes to ashes
everything I know is burning down
ashes to ashes
I fall down
the girl you knew truly knew
her heart that never grew
two by two,
rue by rue
the loneliness
the shallowness
the sadness
help me out
