Ocean MAG
the depths will swallow you up
with no compunction
they'll drag you down
they'll grab your ankles
and pull you
down past the schools of red,
blue and yellow
down past the coral
down past
the farthest layer
light can reach
until you lie there
pale-faced
pruned skin
like the ripples and waves have found home
in your fingers and toes
hair swaying up and down
side to side
upon the pebbled sand of
creatures –
of fragmented ships
and sunken bottles –
alone in the abyss
somewhere
and just to your right
is a violent drop-off
and with a nudge of the tide
you start descending
drifting
down once more.
