DIsencumber Me
Our father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our father, who art six feet under
I’m humbled by thee death
Thy Kingdom falls
Thy will be run
On earth, and justified by God
And i’ll pledge allegiance, to a desolate piece of cloth
One nation, under nihilism
But somehow forgotten the God without a face that haunts Native Americans
A God, forced on us Native Americans by Christians
So demons,
Grant me the insanity
To not accept the things we’re told we cannot change
F*** up the things we can
And the wisdom to set them straight
I disgorge my burdens
Like a rose, they’re beautiful
But I weave the thorns into a crown to honor my selfish hypocrisy
I place it on my father’s head to die for me
The truancy of a God has left me insane
