House of Literature
Staggering out of class, plagued with an overload of homework.
My mind is a vagabond,
Full of thoughts, like a thousand Indian drums pounding and thumping,
I desperately crave solitude.
Snuggling in blankets of various hues, on top of a geometry of cushions,
Entering a portal of limitless possibilities,
I'm in a world of adventures and fantasies.
Tricking boys into painting fences with Tom Sawyer,
Rafting down the Mississippi with Huckleberry Finn.
Riding Pegasus with Percy Jackson,
Traversing a red wheelbarrow with William Carlos Williams.
Slaughtering tributes in the Hunger Games,
The odds are in my favor.
Transcending from the abyss of a cluttered mind,
Refreshed. Rejuvenated. Renewed.
Enlightened like Buddha under the Bodhi Tree.
Having attained Nirvana.
