The Dark Side Has Cookies

One day I found a book of your poetry
And while I sat there reading it
I cried
Because not a single one in there was happy
All heartbreak and suicide
Drunkenness and solitude
And nightmares
Oh the nightmares!
So many nightmares but no dreams
I wished I could run to you
And tell you it was all alright
You just had to look for the bright side
But I was afraid that you would say there was only a dark side
It was only after I knew I could never approach you that I realized that I could have replied
That the dark side has cookies
