The Beach

The salty air blows in my face
and the sand sinks beneath my toes.
All I can see for miles is the beautifully blue
and white wave rolling onto the beach

The sun beats down on my shoulders,
burning the top layer to a crisp,
As I splash around,
in the cool, salty water

Childhood memories soon resurface
of building giant sandcastles with my sister
or looking for starfish in the reefs.
All I wish is to stay here,
with my toes in the sand and the sun burning bright.
