In Which Something Is Lost
They sob in silence
the body lays still
all warmth gone away
Death is natural
but dying cruel and painful
Slowly even worse
Bright and beautiful
a mind full of hope and love
was eaten away
Memories all fade
she could not see them
through the black fog of her disease
Consumed her being
Her last breath of life
Was comfort, not suffering
Tortured soul at rest
Her anger burns hot
But her tears are ice cold
