All the Wrong Reasons
She will never truly appreciate
What he risks for her.
The miles he would run
For her to see the sun.
He strives,
He breathes,
He lives,
All for her.
But she doesn’t care.
She takes advantage
Of all he offers to her.
She poisons,
She corrupts,
She damages,
All for her.
She takes every last piece of him
Until she is satisfied,
And then she will leave.
His empty soul will lie there,
Alone and hollowed out
Until his bones whither away into dust.
But he lets her.
The attention she gives him
For all the wrong reasons
Is better than no attention at all.
