Addiction
My name is Addiction
I am the genie in the bottle
Wherever you go, girl, I will surely follow
Hold on, I was about to take a swig from that bottle
But first be warned love, it’s the hardest thing you’ll ever swallow
Well, you’re a grown up go ahead and tip that bottle
The problems came; snap, crackle and stagger, here comes trouble
The genie replied
"relax, I specialize in escapes on the double, let’s split and hide under the rubble"
We became the best of friends, partners to the end.
The thick grew oh so thin, will I ever win?
My smile collapsed into a frown, the genie stopped coming around.
genie you decieved me, I paid, believe me,
Note the spirits in the bottle mislead you,
No, you were cunning and controlling, my life has been is stolen.
Silent tears and crippling fears in exchange for endless years.
I fell to my knees and I screamed to God “how could this be?”
He only said, “it was you who left me.”
