Funeral of the Mind
Your bed yawns
as you collapse into its mouth.
It smells of you, and you inhale
deeply
gathering scent,
much as your grandfather does
every time you visit him
in his home
on the edge
of your earliest memory.
You glide there now,
shrinking as he grows.
The clock reverses
as his corpse rises.
His skin
fills
with soul
as his hands
unknot
themselves.
