She didn't really hold you
her arms just dangled
she was next to you
but with glossy eyes
she wouldn't even look at you
she wasn't even there
she simply didn't care
she pretended not to know
Why
your tears kept falling
but it was all because of
her
never being there

This poem is about love - not being there, because the absence of love is the greatest loss and absence of all.

Fortunately as devastating as not being loved can be, our only hope is to be loved again - for good and as close as to forever as possible.
