Reflection
Brunette, hazel eyes;
Reflection.
Kindness, generosity;
What a mirror can't tell.
Scratches, distortion;
Reflection.
Love, passion;
What a mirror can't tell.
Flaws, a broken smile;
Reflection.
Strength, courage;
What a mirror can't tell.
Staring back at me,
I don't recognize.
Who could that be?
You'll never see what's really there if you don't
Take the blindfold off.
What society claims is wrong,
We don't need their standards.
In life there's always more,
than what meets the eye.
Scratches, distortions
Flaws, imperfections,
See past it, get past it,
There is more than
Merely a reflection.
