sometimes
if I close my eyes
listen to the wind
feel the soft breeze
on my face
it’s almost as if
I’m back there
with you
so long ago
I can see you
I can reach out
and touch you
the two of us
together
sometimes
if I listen hard enough
I can hear your laughter
It makes me smile
makes me laugh along
I long to really be
there with you
back
in the land of childhood
where nothing bad
could ever happen
we could be
anything we wanted to be
and nothing was impossible
