Queen of the Wild
A crown of wildflowers adorns her untamed hair
She is an honorable ruler, honest and fair
Clutching her sword, a broken-off branch,
Each tumbling pebble is an avalanche
She senses invading enemies— vicious shadows, a malevolent gust of wind
And tenses up not fearful, but ready to defend
She stands brave to protect her people, the butterflies and the trees
The hummingbirds, the tangled brush, the rabbits and the bees
A boulder is her fortress, mossy log her royal throne
She knows every detail of this forest, each brook and nest and stone
In the eyes of an onlooker, she may appear to be only a child
But in her kingdom, she is undoubtedly Queen of the Wild
