Thinking About You
Sitting.
Waiting.
Waiting for the moment when the bell rings, and rings...and rings
and we get to leave, and be
Free.
My freedom rings, but only when I see your face.
Your face.
You can’t see mine, but if you did, you’d probably think something was wrong because I just can’t contain it.
The joy,
The pain,
The struggle,
The strain.
If you looked deeper, into my eyes, you’d notice…
The sparks flying,
The birds gliding,
My joy, abiding.
But then you’d see…
The feelings subsiding
My insides are dying.
Because you don’t feel the same way.
And I know it.
