White love
Black death
Peace above
Hate, regret
Innocence
So sweet and pure
Is taken away
By death so sure

Like a rose petal,
Soft and round,
Falling to
The cold, hard ground
Like a pond
So still and smooth
Broken up
By ripples groves

Like a raindrop
Falling down
Shatters on
The solid ground
Like the hilltop
Shining bright
Its silent cries
Not heard tonight

Death moves swiftly
Silent as night
Let you never be caught
In its sight
Death is powerful
Its mission sure
To many people
It will allure

It shows no mercy
To the young or old
No signs or warnings
None to be told
Deaths are many
Survivors are few
It surly kills
Through and through

White love
Black death
Heavens above
Give living breath
To all who lay
Sick and dying
For all who have
Given up trying

For they have none
None of their own
Hope for a future
Where they’re not alone
They need to trust
In something other
Than a broken world
To take them further

White love
Black death
Peace above’s
Dying breath
It swept through
Leaving not much
Nothing for people
Left to clutch

White love
Black death
Peace above
Hate, regret
Innocence
So sweet and pure
Is taken away
By death so sure
