from somewhere peaceful.
Dear Daughter,
I write from somewhere peaceful,
quieter than the usual;
lonelier.
I write in hopes that you understand that
whether it was my blood or my stars
we were destined to this fate.
dusk would fall and I would become blind,
and I would no longer guide you in the darkness.
I am thankful that you learned how to use a flashlight.
Finally,
I write to inform you that
I will be your greatest but last loss,
that our distance is one of perspective,
and that one day, I will accept your forgiveness.
Love always,
Father
