A Poesy for New Year
At the behest of the Fairy King,
the New Year Fairy is waving her wand.
And, lo and behold! everything looks prettier, newer and full of life.
Every problem has acquired it's solution, and sorrows, troubles and worries have petered out.
Trees blossom and buds bloom.
Everyone has a smile lighting up their faces, and the fragrance of celebration pervades the air.
The Earth couldn't have ever looked happier than it did now!
But, in one little corner, seated on a bench, by a frozen little river, away from all the revelry, was a forlorn little girl.
The Fairy noticed this, tapped her wand thrice,
And in a trice,
the sad little girl forgot all her woes and went on to join the merrymaking.
Having satisfactorily completed her work thus, the Fairy sung out in her beautiful, melodious voice,
"O, beautiful, wonderful people of the Earth, I wish you a very very HAPPY NEW YEAR!""
