Reincarntation
Darkness creeps
Around my breaking body
Engulfing me in sorrow
It pushes
It shoves
It dives deep in
Cutting me open and killing the dreams
And tearing at the wishes
And shredding the hope
Till all I am is crushed glass
Sharp and Shattered.
Red rises inside of me
Turning the beaten glass into searing coals
Fury awakes
Scary and hateful
It pushes
It shoves
It dives deep in
Burning me shut and killing the dreams
And tearing at the wishes
And shredding the hope
Till all I am is a raging fire
Angry and Roaring
A great wind rushes towards me
Ripping open the wound
Healed by hate’s crimson flames
It pushes
It shoves
It dives deep in
Bleeding out the death in me and shredding the old dreams,
And tearing at the elderly wishes,
And building a new light
Allowing a glimmer of color into me,
Hope grows,
Till all I am is a single prairie flower risen among the ashes,
Hopeful and Alive
