Favorite Quote:
Write fast. Write far.

Is my life a ballad,
Or Shakespearean tragedy?
It could have a twist ending,
My personal specialty.

Maybe my story is a coming of age,
Though I somehow doubt that's true.
Rather, I think my tale is of love,
Starting when I met you.

My life could be a murder mystery,
Full of blood and fog,
But much more likely, I think,
It's one long monologue

Will my drama become a cancer movie,
Or one of sudden disaster?
Hopefully it's a feelgood story,
With talking dogs and laughter.

But is my epic even my own,
Or am I just an extra?
A side character in another's story,
The villain, the friend, the whole spectrum?

My life could be a cautionary tale,
If I become a corporate cog.
But much more likely, I think,
It's one long monologue

Will my saga be remembered,
Recited,
Recalled?
Bedside,
Fireside,
Overheard through the hall?

Will you hear these words?
Does this poem even matter?
Does this life even matter?
I do not know,
And it torments me.

My life could be a Christmas song,
With caroling and egg nog,
But much more likely, I think,
It's one long monologue

But as it's up to me,
While freedom is a curse,
The rules of my life are mine to control,
So I think I'll take the free verse.
