i remember newborn pups
and poolside days
neighborhood friends
who seemed like family
because time felt endless with them
combination classes
and elementary school plays
everything that made of my childhood
but now i am seventeen, college bound and
destined to push forward
despite the fact that i have no clue
what i want in life
or how i feel
about the future laid out for me
