Messages Into Space

No particular place.
An empty section of space.
Alone in the universe?
We’ve decided to find out.
We intended to love,
To break the silence.
We didn’t consider our civilization.
No way of knowing before.
Aliens contain earth.
All over the world
There’s something worse.
Madness reaches our brains.
“Please pick me up.”
No one heard.
We’ll be long dead before
We understand.

Thanks for the feedback! I didn't actually "write" the poem, I found an article and took words and quotes from it to make a "poem" of sorts. It was difficult, but I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!

the earlier part of the poem could have been a little more powerful but the last stanza is great! the last two lines are epic!
