The Battle of Love's End
A beautiful fortress, sturdy walls built of teenage devotion and popularity
I made you my safe place, to keep out the empty emotion, you became my clarity
You where just so damn perfect, from what I saw with my eyes
What you got, babe you deserved it, for telling me those lies
I have gates of Iron, a castle made of steel
to protect my heart, to shelter it from feel
But you had to do it, you started a war
Got others to fight it, then came back for more
The love you have stolen, I cannot replace
Left cold and broken, half a heart gone to waste
With your titanium sword, you took down my kingdom
You knew I'd be torn, you predicted the outcome
I fell in defeat, You took me down
Chained by deceit, I'm stuck on the ground
That's when you came back, said how sorry you were
Even after your attack, all I could do was concur
You never committed, but said to me, you where always promised
Then admitted later that day, in the name of being honest
That you never really wanted me, and that I needed to move on
Your words cast a spell that haunted me, but when I woke up you where gone
If there is one thing that I learned from this, is you loved nothing but yourself
It showed when you took the diss, of being placed up on the shelf
I may never get over you, but recently I've changed
My heart closed up the spot for you, my life I've rearranged
It took awhile but I realized, I loved in shades of wrong
I wonder how to equalize, where the blame should be placed on
But now our wounds have scarred over, we're just strangers with a past
Not soon enough can I discover, if true love, is a thing to last.
