I am the moon
And the only light I own
I can't claim

You shine through me

My sun when life becomes an eclipse,
You'll be there to burn
Brighter
When the storms have passed away

And what shall I say to that?

I say I realize why the Aztecs made
A deity of you,
They knew what love was and they
Put it on a pedestal

But you're much more approachable.

First dentistry was painless.
Then bicycles were chainless,
Carriages were horseless,
And many laws enforceless.

Next cookery was fireless,
Telegraphy was wireless,
Cigars were nicotineless,
And coffee caffeineless.

Soon oranges were seedless,
The putting green was weedless,
The college boy was hatless,
The proper diet fatless.

New motor roads are dustless,
The latest steel is rustless,
Our tennis courts are sodless,
Our new religion — godless.

see, its hard enough for me to write poetry, but to write about someone like a boyfriend or girlfriend is just insanity, because there is too much emotion surrounding them, and to try and put that into words is just agonizingly difficult-_-

whether or not you intended it to be so, i like how there is this imagery of us being like the moon, and we only reflect the light of Christ, who is the sun. what everyone sees of us is only a glimpse of His wonder and majesty.   amazing poem, it has provoked some thoughts for sure:)
