The Only Children
We are only children
Many see us as spoiled
Treated like royalty
We are only children
Held high on a shelf
No wrong can be done
Always in the right
We are only children
People think of us as lonely
Always by our selves
Preferring to be alone
We are only children
Doing anything we want
We are the kings of our homes
No one tells us what to do
We are only children
Lucky to have more opportunities
Have a better chance to succeed
Look at Lance Armstrong
We are only children
In reality we are far from these things
We are spoiled, spoiled just as much as any other child
We are wrong at times, we are punished just like everyone else
We are not lonely, we have just as many friends and family members as anyone else
We are not kings, we do not do anything that we feel like or give orders
We don’t have more opportunities, we are presented with the same amount as anyone is
We are only children, and in the end we’re the same as anyone else.
