I Have A Dream
I say to you today, to the people of America the Brave, America the Beautiful, America the Free; we are still free. We may have had people try to take away our freedom, but we will fight to hold on to it.
I have a dream that buildings will not fall to the ground due to prejudice beliefs. That we may not have to bear the terrible screams of those who run from the twin towers, watching a part of their liberty fall to the earth, defeated.
I have a dream that I may be able to walk aboard a plane without the possibility of a terrorist act repeating itself from thirteen years ago. That the parents on the plane, who remember that day, will not have to worry for their children’s safety.
I have a dream that kids won’t have to come home to messages left by their moms and dads, saying their last goodbyes. That the little boy or little girl who walks home from school won’t hear their parents saying they love them over the continued sobs on the recording. I don’t want that to be the last goodbye.
I have a dream that the brave will never have to use their bravery in ways that will take their lives. That the men and women on the plane headed for the White House would not have had to unite and overtake the terrorists who were trying to take our nation’s hope away, resulting in the plane crashing in Pennsylvania. That their bravery can be known, not used in these terrible acts.
I have a dream.
I have a dream that Muslims will not be discriminated against because of a group of people who belong to the same religion doing horrible things. That the boy in school will not be called names because of the faith he belongs to and the virtues he believes in.
I have a dream.
I have a dream that human beings will not terrorize other human beings; leaving them and their nation scarred with horrible memories. That icons of freedom and achievement will not have to crash and burn, along with our nation’s hopes and aspirations. That our country is able to make the statement that although we have fallen, we will get back up. That the terrorists who attacked us will see our nation stand strong again with pride, and marvel at the waterfalls that honor the brave people who died in order to make that statement.
I have a dream today.
This is my dream. My dream is dreamt by many, so we will not have to watch people’s lives destroyed on the T.V. or read about cruel acts done in the newspaper. So we will not have to see pictures of our sisters and brothers, mothers and fathers, aunts and uncles, grandmas and grandpas, covered in ashes. My dream is that day will never be repeated again, and our nation will stand again with pride, as we remain America the Free.
