Moving Day
We packed boxes today
and I found myself
detatched
dust rose and
settled
I removed pictures from frames
and put them into boxes.
I threw away
countless
objects
in a big black trash bag.
It grew heavy
with memories that have
faded
and have become
lost
to me.
What once were dear to me-
are now tchotchkes
piled at the bottom of a box labeled
“To Sell”
