I treasure this simple, glass box,
The one that for a while I've resided in.
I can see out and they can see in,
But no one can touch what lies within.

It's nearly impenetrable,
In order to enter you will get hurt.
But who could possibly try,
For someone with such little worth?

I've broken it before for a select few,
Those who gave me a reason to believe,
Yet none came over to remove these shards,
So I lay in blood, scared and deceived.

Lately, it's become harder to see,
What lies outside and who comes by,
Drawn on, smudged by those who come,
Admired, mocked, then left for dead, why?

I don't have much time left here,
The oxygen is running out.
It's been too long here, but i'll lie calmly,
And happily be rid of this despair.
