The Woods of Tranquility
Wonderful green leaves
leaves
that tell stories of storm and rain
Clear reflective water
water
that shows my eyes of many years of pain
Clustered trees
trees
wound together about to kiss
Animal holes
holes
so deep and dark maybe I could become Alice
Dusty rocks
rocks
formed by the rain the heavens cried
Scared animals
animals
that run at a slight noise for a place to hide
Brown grass
grass
that withers with each step I take
Blue sky
sky
that looks like a massive lake
A trickle of water
A quiver of leaves
I love the sound of nature
and a cool breeze
All this beauty in my sight
given to us by God’s great might
Ending now my brief respite
I
turn
and
walk
with smile bright
