the morning was dark and damp

the clouds hung in the sky

the only light was those of lamps

while the hours slowly slipped by

the afternoon was bright and hot

every pond was dry

i sat near the forget-me-nots
while the hours slowly slipped by

the evening was cool just right

the earth seemed to sigh

i lay down to watch the night

while the hours slowly slipped by

I like how you clearly portrayed the sense of time slowing slipping by. Good description of nature around you to contribute to the idea of time continuing on. Your rhymes make the poem flow!
