My love for you was like a song
loud and strong
when hummed along.
My love for you was like a tree
where birds live content and free
while watching a butterfly chase a bee.
My love for you was like a beast
vicious as it looks west and east
searching for its next big feast.
My love for you was like the seven seas
where Poseidon gives his strong decrees
and the mermaids swim in twos and threes.
My love for you was like the night
when the stars glittered and shone bright
and bathed the whole world in their pretty light.
