Unspoken Reality
It is said that everyone has a
"soulmate;" there's endless
hype about this 'other half,'
love songs are written as
"1,2,3,4;" even love
has established its own math.
What is to be said of those whose conquests leave them
empty-handed, of those whose
wicked journeys always leave them stranded?
Those tragic characters are titled
"cynics" which possibly may be true, yet when love continually eludes these hearts, what else are they to do?
The sad and unspoken reality
for many a damsel in distress
is that no shining knight will ever
come to end her game of chess.
She may never find a hand that
fits hers like a glove,
or even if he finally does come knocking, she may find herself
incapable of love.
