Get busy living, or get busy dying- Stephan King

We grasp time
between our fingers;
taming the fiery wisps
of minutes.
We watch in wonder,
as they slowly float,
and we sketch our future
on the sand of our hope.
Time is frozen,
and our dreams are framed
forever in this moment.
Placed
on the shelves of our future,
just out of reach.
And then,
when it passes,
the wave of reality
rushes cruelly and snatches,
the dreams away;
fantasies erased …
But there is a faded outline
still there in the sand.
And so at the dawn of each day,
we start again …
and again …
and again …
Retracing the lines,
coloring with bold faith this time,
painting with brushes of confidence.
The waves hungrily swallow it
irritably sighing,
but this time left in the sand,
is a clear imprint;
a dream materializing …
