Letters To God
My tongue tastes like the sticky side of an envelope
I’m writing letters to someone I don’t know
Hoping he’ll see right to me
Even though we’ll never meet
I write about what I did today
Running out of things to say
But I keep writing anyway
Blah, blah, blah
For three pages straight
I might include some poetry
Some facts about me
Letters to someone out there
I’ll let it all out
On the page I can shout
The anger I felt today
Or cry the sadness that never goes away
And he’ll read it or not
I guess I’ll never be sure
My words so true and pure
I’m risking everything
The words: my shame and sin
And for all I know I’m sending them to the wind
