I Am Sorry

Our past we cannot forget or undo.
The future of our friendship is all we can look up too.
I wish I had been there by your side.
When the truths came out and you cried.
Know that in my heart, what I feel is true…
That I wish I could take away the pain you have been through.
But I promise you that you will never be alone.
Because even though we may not be friends, you’re still welcome home.
I will watch and help your dreams come true.
No matter where we are in our friendship, I’ll always be here for you.

Most poetry you see today doesn not rhyme, and i did not see any poetic use of figurative language. The topic for this poem has great potential, though. I liked the idea of it!
