The Last Session
Icy and soft with the veil of a ghost
Eyes like fire that met
I feel my lips pucker and teeth grind
Tell me why you’re here
I can’t, I don’t remember
Clock ticking down the wall
Tick…tock
Fish gliding through the water in a bowl
The walls seem too white to me
Answer the question
My nails dig into the sofa
It’s too soft
My eyes dig into her forehead
It’s too wrinkled
Scribbling on paper, words from my mouth
You don’t know me
Stop pretending you can diagnose me
You can’t
I’ll be sick forever
I count each dot on the ceiling
Her mouth is moving up and down
But the words come out muffled and backwards
All I see is the fish swimming in circles
You haven’t said a thing for five minutes, dear…
I know
I need one bump
Just one
Then
I can
Come down
What are you thinking right now?
The air is sizzling
Oh, I don’t know, nothing really
I hate her
I hope she knows I hate her
Tick…tock
Tick..tock
Tick.tock
Ticktock
Our session is over
It’s raining outside
I forgot my jacket so I walk blindly
I need a bump
I’m going to my dealer
There are two lights ahead
Getting closer
Horns are blaring
Why did it get so quiet?
Where did the light go?
