Side By Side
we-so many miles apart- have our backs pressed against each other
a finger against our lips, we keep words away against current
silence.
& in between are only the waves of cryptic green, crashing
rocks & storms & icebergs, and yet we hear only
silence.
hands grasping tightly, we sift through the summer sand
for a single seashell, calling to green waves. yet we hear only
silence.
and put against our ears, desperate for breathes of water
yet we, perhaps fatefully? hear only
silence.
and we-so many miles apart-left to stand, back to back, both broken
looking out at two opposite directions. still, we hear only
silence.
