What kind of a people are we
To kill so mercilessly?
What kind of creature would destroy,
For the simple pleasure of taking joy?
What is it that drives
Humans to steal away each others lives?
How much blood must be shed
For a few loving words to be said?
Why have so many died
For us to realize the demons live inside?

I wrote this shortly after the bombing at the Boston marathon, but it really applies to many acts of violence.

I love the concept and the way everything flowed so easily together. Your rhymes were very good. They weren't too forced like mine are. We humans can be pretty rough sometimes but we aren't all like that! Good job!
