"School days are the unhappiest in the whole span of human existence. They are full of dull, unintelligible tasks, new and unpleasant ordinances, with brutal violations of common sense and common decency." -Henry Louis Mencken

Thoughts, words, ideas;

Twisting around my mind.
Yearning to break free;

To be written on paper.
The pen is my wand;

Plucking phrases from the bottomless void
I am the messenger;

The words my Ariadne.
Help me on my journey;

And let the words break free.

The author's comments:
I always have so many ideas and words for stories and poems, but can never phrase them as I see fit. However, once I began to let everything phrase itself every settled into place. This piece explained the way that the words chose their own order of being written.

"People need stories in order to survive reality" ~ Shakespeare (from the anime Romeo and Juliet, anyway)

I understand what you mean by not finding the right words. Many times I will tell someone about a story idea and they want me to write it out, but when I try, nothing feels right about it. It's not until I give up on writing the story that the words seem to burst forth and I have to write them down. It's almost as though it's not my story to tell, but something else's that is just using me to pen it. So it's not until I stop trying so hard that it begins to flow.

I appreciate how it is short but honest. One can get so much from it.
