Flower's Lament
A certain place
a certain something interlaced
ancient hunger, woods are nil
a vast balloon, both time and space
The unseen rule
mad men and their inquisitions
maraud the village
burn the linens
burn the witch
scourge every trace that we exist
There is a stately prison
this mental masochism
changes moods
does it function--
does it loom?--the shackles of our minds
separate the night from day
and make a tutored youth parade
I have no ties;
no veiled bonds
I am yours
and yours alone
for we cannot stand on hallowed ground
see through doors, and make no sound
There is a lush metropolis
waiting; trust
hiding just
beyond this town
lavish with silver, extravagant thrush
teeming with people, things
I will not watch the green recede
I will not wait, consume in greed
never stop, and never think
I will not halt, nor even blink
Doubt
is but a vapid dream
I have been denied,
a time too many
eschewed like a beggar, in a time of plenty
Your affection
dangled before me
Deprived
denied like a mutt to the feast
I will not rest in a time of plenty
I will not indulge in sour sweets
I will strive to see this world complete
and when you return, all but begging
on your knees
crooning,
ruing
I will retort,
"Darling
my lovely, please
We are finally at this greatest hour
Do not toil, do not lament, do not devour
For I still love you,
Nectar of My Flower
but be excused;
please, depart my tower
I will have no dogs in my purest bower"
