Monster

He's too far gone,
To come home safe,
She has his heart,
In her hands.
I hope she doesn't break him,
Make him fall broken to the ground.

She's a monster inside,
Like a perfect apple,
Rotten to the core.
He's too far gone,
To hear the voices in his head.
And she has his heart,
In her hands.
And there's nothing I can do.

She calls him when she needs him.
Needs him to keep me here.
At the end of a line I can't escape.
My pain is her glory.
And, maybe his triumph.
I've dug the hole too deep,
To turn and run now.

He's been seduced by her lies.
Torn from beauty, fallen from high.
She has his heart in her hands,
I hope she doesn't break him.

I wrote this a long time ago in order to get out my frustration about a situation. I discovered it later and chose to put it in my school poetry project, in the version seen here.
