Favorite Quote:
For, I could not love thee, Dear, so much,
Loved I not honour more.
-- Richard Lovelace, quoted often by Baroness Emmuska Orczy in The Scarlet Pimpernel

the softest touch can be the hardest blow

a gentle kiss a gaping wound

the arms that hold you close in love

can break your heart in two

when warm and safe and cuddled close

you can feel a bitter chill

an icy wind that frosts your soul

and shatters it like glass

our brightest dreams hold our darkest fears

for only with hope can we truly despair

our photograph moments hold echoes of pain

for there are terrors we can never forget

the truest hate comes only from the deepest love

you can’t feel cold unless you once knew warmth

the most desperate acts are committed in hope

a smile means nothing if you’ve never cried

we cry in the sun and dance in the dark

find joy in pain and sorrow in laughter

we embrace grief when we reach for love

endure agony for the sake of hope

all the world has a flipside

an opposite that’s easy to see

the best of days and the worst of days

with hardly a moment between
