Why are we here?
What is the meaning of life
Is it to steal money and success
When it seems that all is sent to us is strife
All we can do about the pain is repress
Some believe we are all a mistake
That we are just a chain in evolution
What an assumption that is to make
That our meaning is an illusion
What about the question of religion
Which of them is right
When all deceive my vision
How can I believe in an eternal invisible might
Is our fate infinite nothingness
Or leisure up above
Are we all doomed to eternal darkness
Even if some never live to feel love
So how can there be someone up above
To help the needy
When all humanity does is push and shove
After they kill for money they stay greedy
Would we deserve salvation
When we throw friend under train
When all the weak lack relation
All the strong only care for is gain
Is it he
Who made us so
Is there no key
To stop all foe
We live a lie
To most the world is cruel
Some never learn to fly
To life they lose the duel
Almost as a nation
So many lives are vain
Some just lose determination
Their dreams fall like rain
And the children who suffer and die
Who never had a conscious thought
Do they fly up high
While in the ground they rot
The surviving children ask themselves why
Some find peace, most do not
Some just crumble and cry
For the nothingness they've got
So is the world at all fair
When we let humans deteriorate
When no one will care
The children learn to hate
As their lives get colder
They question their fate
And as they get older
They wonder what awaits them at the pearly gate
Where is the eternal light
The one we all so desperately need
Have we all lost sight
In this wretched greed
Late in the night
Few can heed
The immense might
Of the evil we feed
We must fight
We must plant the seed
For a future that is bright
Good must lead
It can be
We can rid the world of fear
Someday, we will be free
And someday, we will know why we are here.
